Résumé

Dans le cadre de mon programme de doctorat en éducation, on m'a demandé d'étudier le livre de la Dre Marie Battiste (2017) Decolonizing Education: Nourishing the Learning Spirit. En réponse à ce travail, j'ai construit un site WordPress comme moyen d'expérimenter la traversée des frontières liées aux espaces physiques et numériques, entre différentes connaissances autochtones et concepts d'enseignement et d'apprentissage. Pendant la construction du site, j'ai cherché des exemples des concepts et des idées de Battiste chez les Inuvialuit, le groupe autochtone avec lequel je suis le plus familier, dans ce qui est devenu une exploration du merveilleux travail accompli dans la région désignée des Inuvialuit pour préserver la culture et décoloniser les modes de pensée. Je savais que certaines de ces ressources existaient, mais j'ai été surpris par la profondeur et la variété des documents disponibles. Dans cet article, je présente ce site Web comme un exemple expérimental de curation numérique qui assemble le livre, une série d'artefacts numériques trouvés via des recherches sur Internet et mes propres réflexions sur ces artefacts. En le construisant, je n'ai pas cherché de réponses mais j'ai plutôt exploré les possibilités de la curation comme voie d'éducation à la décolonisation. La conception du site qui en résulte est à la fois personnelle et incomplète. Grâce à ce processus, j'espère ouvrir des portes vers de nouvelles façons de penser la curation numérique comme moyen de soutenir un engagement actif dans les conversations compliquées et nécessaires concernant la décolonisation.
